The fresh mud of the beck often reveals the passage of small mammals.  The footprint looks very much like a water vole. The habitat of this endangered species is protected.

These tracks can be found in an unbroken trail from the Ings, which is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), to the golf course. This indicates what a vital conduit for wildlife this beck provides.

We have noticed that the number of tracks seem to decline during the year.
