Greetings Mike. To answer your question re the drop of six feet is taken from the data obtained from the Cartography Department of the Ordinace Survey. The draining of the land over the period over the last 938 years at a rate of: viz .0076759 inch per year. The mass of some 138,763 million tons has dropped a total of 71.9 inches on average over that time. The cubic yardage amounted to (and this only aproximate for the site) 658 million cubic yards It is plain, that the drainage has, over the near millenium been sporadic, and coupled with the changes over the last 200 years by various land owners and later developers has clouded the issue somewhat. Core samples, taken from the site, have born out the data before you. I hope this has helped somwhat, in clarifying the question you rightly put to me Mike. Kind regards Dr Bradbury (Antony)
