Hello again chas, just browsing your site, regarding no roman roads south? I believe that Green Lane passing Riccall towards York is in fact a roman road, and Also there is a roman villa only yards from Mr Stockdales farm bungalow at Riccall. Villa,s were often situated quite near to roman roads
